The First Christmas was simple. It’s ok if yours is too.
Sometimes the ANXIETY of being the mom during The holidays is too much for me ...and I want to Cancel Christmas 🙄🤦🏼♀️🤔.#justme?
But honestly, those moments I’d overwhelm are good for me!!
They make me STOP 🖐🏻🛑and check my expectations.
Does Jesus really care if I don’t do the right advent day ?? Or if I forget the advent 5 days in a row?
Or if I only got half the cranberry bread made before the kids started fighting and the baby started crying ??
Or if my kids have perfect presents and matching wrapping paper??
Or that I don’t have a Christmas tree yet? #true
Or that a mouse DIED in my favorite box of Christmas decorations so ——> I threw them AWAY?
God does not care about those things. AT ALL
But you know what ?
God sees my tears of exhaustion TRYING so hard to take care of everyone.
God sees my kids leaving kind notes for eachother in their “Christmas mailboxes”
God sees my kids lovingly taking care of our toddler tyrant and our teething baby Rosie.
God sees the long hours my husbands been working and the kids Joy when he comes home.
God sees using doing our very best to love eachother doing LIFE.
Truth is, that Love, service, and sacrifice didn’t just happen on one day, or one season of Jesus’s life either.
Remembering Christ happens in how we love everyday.
It’s how we act like Him through the nitty gritty, magical, emotional, exhausting, and beautifully messy everyday life.
So moms... if you’re like me, and you’re feeling a little deflated and stressed that you can’t quite live up to the Christmas you hoped you could create....
Remember to wrap yourself in His greatest gift...of GRACE. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Let his love warm your heart and know that when all the lights come down, and the cookies are eaten, and the toys batteries have run out. (please🤣)
His LOVE remains.
His LOVE is all we need.
My dearest Jesus, help me remember ...that you are enough. And that I am enough because of YOU ❤️
